Environment & Sustainability
DTM Custom Applications started out as a weekend and after-work job for the owner, Chris Hodges. While working at a local farm cooperative, Chris saw the need to have a lime application company that could meet the specific needs of the grower. With little mechanical knowledge, but willingness to learn and grow, the idea became a reality with DTM Lime Spreading. The first applicator was a 1982 GMC Brigadier that had more issues than anyone would care to admit. With the help of friends and family this one-man, one-spreader operation began its growth. As the years progressed and DTM Lime Spreading became more known, the jump into fertilizer application was next. As this growth expanded so did the crew and types of applicators......and a small name change as well. Now DTM Custom Applications services customers in three states with both floater and row crop spreaders.
The crew at DTM Custom Applications can best be described in one word....DEDICATED. Over the course of two decades, we have made sure that all applicators are both knowledgeable and respectful when it comes to nutrient application. Many of our applicators grew up on a farm and still help their family farm on their time off. Since our beginnings we have worked hard to hire from within the same communities our growers are in. Many of our growers know our applicators and feel very comfortable explaining any changes or specific directions that may need to be expanded on. Our applicators are what sets us apart from others.
